HOW I GOT INTO FITNESS

My bodybuilding journey began with my Dad. Although he never competed, his time within the RAF had birthed an interest in fitness and weightlifting that was passed on to me. 
 
I moved around a lot as a child and upon starting a new school I joined a gym where I met some competitive bodybuilders. It was then that I made the decision to compete in my first competition, and from there I was hooked and knew that it was the fitness industry that I was meant to be a part of!
 
When I first started training it was apparent that I have a talent for it. From mastering various forms quickly to my strength advancing much faster than I could have ever believed that it would. 
 
This led to many of my mates at school coming to me for advice and wanting to train with me, and from that moment I had the bug, and set my path towards acquiring my personal training qualifications.
 
5 years of fitness-related higher education, and over 2 dozen competitions later, this is where I am, still very much passionate about health and fitness. 
 
Over the years I have helped various people in the gym to achieve their goals, whether that be writing plans, helping with nutritional advice, or taking over a competition prep when the clients coach had let them down.
 
I know have the knowledge and experience to help anyone interested in changing their life through fitness. 

MY HEALTH AND FITNESS TRAINING ETHOS

When it comes to achieving goals I live by two basic principles, consistency and progression. 
 
The body is an extremely adaptable mechanism, so without the consistency there isn't a chance for the body to adapt in the desired way. Without the proper progressions in training and diet, the progress that your body will be making will undoubtedly plateau and be short lived.
 
This is why it is important to have the proper guidance with diet and training so that YOUR progress is both progressive and consistent (see what I did there) it all comes full circle.

WHAT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED?

 The honest answer here is that I'm simply not always motivated. I’m only human and I have days, and even weeks, where my training is the last thing I want to do and all I crave is an extra large dominoes with all the trim!
 
But in order to keep me on track, I just have to keep visualizing my end goal. I find visualizing what you want to be the most effective form of motivation! I imagine what I want to achieve and my ideal physique and 100% know that without the work i’ll never get there. Once I am in the gym and have the weights in my hands I feel much better for it. 
 
Finding out how hard you can push yourself and finding what you and your body are truly capable of is one of the most satisfying feelings that I have ever experienced. I am extremely excited to show others how to train and get results to make them feel amazing, too.
